who we are
SUPERGIRLS DO DESIGN is a multidisciplinary design studio established by Marta Szostek and Agata Kiedrowicz in 2016. We combine matter and senses into multi-sensory designs of objects and space installations. Our designs use quality, durable and natural materials, including up-cycled. Textile is a material that often plays a key role in our designs as we find it as a source of multiple potentials defining the space. We engage in collaborations that give us possibility to create new and fresh ideas. We think highly creative, but we act realistic.
We collaborate with leading polish cultural institutions, such as Ujazdowski Castle - Centre for Contemporary Art, Adam Mickiewicz Institute, Zachęta National Gallery, KRUPA Art Gallery, Łódź Design Festival. Our clients involve multiple brands, agencies and institutions: Vogue Polska, PURO Hotels, Zalando, KUKBUK, Ania Kuczyńska, INTU showroom, Dr Irena Eris Hotels Spa, Impact CEE, Poznań Intenational Fair (MTP), School of Form, EY Polska, The Way event agency, Le Pont, NOTI.
our approach
Our starting point is empathy, which means that every design begins with answering the question about what will people feel like in spaces designed by us, or interacting with items we design. How will our design affect the users’ senses and emotions. We create experiences based on shape, texture, colour, and touch. Our designs are unconventional and inspiring, demonstrating a different and refreshing perspective, usually strongly contextual.
We feel responsible for the impact we have as a designers on environment. Whenever it's possible, we try to re-use materials from our scenography in different combinations, giving them a second live. Sometimes it's just giving materials a new color, sometimes is about completely changing the form or function of design elements.
