SAND ROOM•Poznań International Fair

SAND ROOM is a space that was designated as a multi – purpose room for occasional events (conferences, family venues, company trainings, etc.). The challenge was to design a series of objects – scenography (it had to be moveable) that would make the space more cosy and would refer to the desert and sand. As a result we created a collection of wooden panels, fulfilled by arrangement of plants (cactuses and the highest quality artificial succulents) and custom made wooden pots.

Layers of plywood and stripes of lightweight veneer make the space cosy and create calm atmosphere. Veneer panels are made with traditional „chock” method which enables changing separate stripe of veneer without the need of disassembling the whole frame. Additionally, veneer panels have acoustic qualities so they work very well as a room dividers, making the space more intimate. Each piece of wood was carefully chosen, with the special attention to the quality, drawing of grain and shades.
